From Panacea to Practical Use - A new test aims to curb overuse of antibiotics

While use of many pharmaceutical products is highly restricted and targeted, use of antibiotics appears far less so.  A 2015 report into the State of the World’s Antibiotics by the Centre for Disease Dynamics, Economics and Policy states that ‘Instead of being the default treatment for a host of mild ailments, antibiotics must be considered life-saving medicines to use when needed.’
